Commissioners Meeting Minutes 11/19/2002

Present: Chairman Donald T. Bates, Vice Chairman Danette Gonsalves, Clerk George Cavanaugh, Superintendent Craig Wiegand, Secretary Carol Connor.

The meeting was called to order at 8:15 AM by Chairman Bates.

All bills were signed as presented, and all new service applications signed to date.

Abatements signed for service #2215, 5571, 3619, and 1912.

Superintendent's report given by Mr. Wiegand.

Discussion with Mr. Leo Yuskus of Haley & Ward regarding the painting rehabilitation of the water tanks. HROMA Co. has not submitted all the necessary insurance documents. The project has been delayed 18 days already. The contractor is now working on obtaining documentation. Superintendent Wiegand will be speaking to town counsel about the proper procedures to terminate the contract if it becomes necessary. The Board decided to table this until the next meeting as Mr. Wiegand and Mr. Yuskus will speak to the contractor about postponing the job until spring. Mr. Yuskus discussed the new tank location. An easement has been granted by the School Board at Cape Cod Tech along the area where the 16" water main is located. A permanent access is now in the process of being considered. One possibility is off Oak St. and another is through the Cape Cod Tech parking lot. Power also needs to be furnished to the site. If the Oak St. access is chosen, then an additional width may have to be granted to allow access of construction equipment.

SCADA system bid reviewed. Mrs. Gonsalves made a motion to award the bid to Industrial Tech. Mr. Cavanaugh seconded. Unanimous vote to approve.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30 AM.
