Sealed bids for General Contract for the Harwich Water Department
Packaged Electrical System will be received at the Town of Harwich,
Massachusetts at the Harwich Water Department, at 196 Chatham Road,
Harwich, Massachusetts 02645 until 2:00p.m. prevailing time on
Friday, September 15, 2006, and at the time and place will be publicly
opened and read aloud.
A pre-bid meeting with site visit is to follow, Will be held on
Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 10:00A.M. at the Harwich Water Department,
196 Chatham Road, Harwich, MA 02645.
In general and without limitation, the work to be done under this
contract consists of furnishing a packaged electrical system at
three of the Harwich public water supply sites. The electrical
systems includes a generator set and transfer switch for each site
Bidders will have to demonstrate their qualifications by submitting
references for a minimum of four (3) similar projects in the last
five (5) years. References are to be included in section 00300.
Any bid submitted without the appropriate references will be deemed
non-responsive and not qualified.
Each Bid shall also be submitted in accordance with Instructions
to Bidders and be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of
5 percent of Bid.
Contact Documents may be examined and obtained at the office of
the Harwich Water Department, 196 Chatham Road, Harwich, MA 02645,
between the hours of 09:00AM.and 3:00P.M.
A deposit of $25.00 certified Check, company check or money order
payable to the Town of Harwich will be required for each set of
Contract Documents. A refund of the deposit will be made for Documents
returned in good condition within 14 days after the Bids are opened.
Bidders requesting Contract Documents by mail shall also include
a separate non-refundable deposit payable to the Harwich Water
Department in the amount of $15.00 per set to cover costs of handling
and mailing.
The bidding and award of the Contact shall be in full compliance
with Section 39M inclusive of Chapter 30 of the General Laws of
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as last revised.
Wages rate for this project are subject to the minimum wage rates
per M.G.L., Chapter 149, section 26 to 27G, inclusive.
All contract construction shall be completed by December 22, 2006.
No Bidder may withdraw his/her Bid for a period of thirty (30)
days excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, after the
actual date of the bid opening.
Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instruction
to Bidders.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to
reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in their best interest.
The Owner reserves the right to omit part or whole of any proposed
work to be performed, as shown on the contract drawings, as may
be required to maintain the total cost of work within available
finds.
